Hi all...
I am just wondering with all the facebook changes that are occuring, which do you prefer... Facebook or Twitter? Personally I prefer twitter.
Even though I go on facebook via AIM and use a application called Selective tweets.. It's neat...

Facebook is really nice for keeping up with family and lost friends you think you parted ways with for good. Much as I laugh about social networks, and mock Facebook in particulra, it really does serve a value add, when people are so spread out. And if you're a man, you can really appear on the ball when it comes to the stuff we usually miss like birthdays.
Speaking of birthdays, I will say this: until Facebook, I could not read any form of birthday card or Christmas card for myself. Now, being on Facebook, people put it on your wall, and we as blind people can actually read them, and write them for someone else, when you used to have to dictate it to someone if you wanted to put something on a card.
It's been really interesting to read about people I used to know 20 years ago or more.
Also, on Facebook, if you and your friends are planning a get-together, you can create an event and manage it all in one place. Who's bringing beer, dogs, a grill, whatever: all on the event page, really easy especially for those of us who aren't really the social organizers of society.

I like facebook because you are able to delete comments because on twitter you are not aloud too. That's why I will never have twitter.

facebook. because you do a whole lot more on it.

twitter's just if you're in a rush- but want to say something

Back when I had facebook, I used it more like twitter than facebook, but now that I don't have facebook, I actually find my life is much simpler.

Twitter. Facebook has too much crap to keep up with. I just want to make a snarky comment and get on with my life. I quit Facebook when it dawned on me that I was doing it because I felt obligated to my friends and family that nagged me into it rather than doing it for my own enjoyment. Plus, it was too much of a hassle to keep up with the constant changes. I have zero regrets about ditching Facebook.

I like facebook better because of the fact I can actually write on facebook. I suppose I could always get a blog or something on wordpress or blogger or blogspot, which is actually something I've planned on doing but at the moment I just use facebook for that. twitter sorta reminds me of this like virtual bar where you here everyone's conversation depending on who you're all following and who's following you and not only that you hear all sorts of news casts everywhere. So imagine you're at some loud party or some sports bar or something and you're hearing all the conversations all around you plus whatever it is you are trying to say to people or to someone. That's what twitter reminds me of.

i like facebook. also twitter. they are great for networking. and keeping up with family. and friends.

I like both, but the sad part is when I say hello to someone on fb chat, 5 seconds later they sign out. I'm certain that it's nothing personal, but it's kind of annoying...I got fb to keep up with people, and when I say hi to them they don't even bother to answer back or send a message later on.

I tweet a lot more than I use FB, but they are both in my network. Since I am on those two, google plus is redundant. I nod to Leo regarding the greeting cards and event reminders on FB-- very nice! To the one who says one cannot delete her/his tweets, I correct you-- your own tweets are deletable from the api and the site. Please read docs.

Twitter for me, hands down. though I do have a facebook account, I sign in once in a blue moon, usually when the emails keep nagging at me about what events I've missed. The only reason I still have facebook is because the people I keep in touch with on there don't have twitter.

twitter by far, here! Personally, I think twitter has it and has a better direction then does facebook. First there is too much unnecessary crap on facebook I do not necessarily want to read anyway. and secondly, you have to follow all your friends to access either wall, even if they are more interested in reading your stuff then you reading theirs. on twitter you can follow but they don't have to necessarily follow back. besides facebook doesn't do the news items where as twitter does and that's mainly why I go on these sites.

their are advantages and disadvantages to both. you can't write long messages on twitter unless you're using this other sight with the URL with the long message. they're not good with your privacy because even if you're posting, people could still look even if you post it as private. on the other hand you're learning and keeping up with your friends

I mainly use Twitter to read Sports and News items, particularly when my Sports teams are playing, I'd go on Twitter to keep up with scores and how the team plays as for Facebook, I use it to talk to friends, post links and stuff.

Post 15 by DRUM GODDESS (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Sunday, 16-Sep-2012 20:33:33

I like facebook much better. I was on twitter for a few days but didn't really care for it much. I think I know more people who have facebook too and I only had a few friends on twitter.

Post 16 by chelslicious (like it or not, I'm gonna say what I mean. all the time.) on Sunday, 16-Sep-2012 21:58:03

twitter is much better when you use a client that quietly runs in the background called the cube that was specifically made for blind people.

Post 17 by Nicky (And I aprove this message.) on Monday, 17-Sep-2012 10:47:13

My family is spread out a lot so facebook is great with keeping up with them. Not many people I know uses twitter and I don't seem to like it as much. But I have both. Use fB more.

Post 18 by Master Alex Matthew SARcastic (Account disabled) on Sunday, 30-Sep-2012 8:51:30

Although Facebook is simply better due to the fact that there's no character limit as for Twitter, it's more of an SMS sort of thing, only a minimum of 140 characters.

Like both though fb is more for family.

I use twitter more than facebook, although I do look at my facebook sometimes and also use facebook chat now and again, well most of the time I'm on the mac since I can never be bothered to use miranda on windows and I like adium on the mac.

Post 21 by Thunderstorm (HotIndian!) on Wednesday, 03-Oct-2012 9:14:50

short and sweet. so twitter myself. It's also because of the accessible client for us. like qube and so on.

I've been on twitter for a couple of weeks and it doesn't do much for me. Perhaps I'll check into the Cube. Is that a windows thing or just for the mac?

Post 24 by Runner229 (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Wednesday, 03-Apr-2013 11:30:39

I use both. My friends suggested that I get a Twitter account because like some have said, it is a good news source. It seems twitter is better than FaceBook, though I used to love FaceBook. There are a lot of things that have been annoying me lately about it, like all these suggested posts and it tells me every single thing that my friends do on there, like share a photo, write a comment on a page or post, the pages they like, etc. The thing I'm still getting used to with Twitter is the 140 character maximum for each post.

Post 25 by Godzilla-On-Toast (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Wednesday, 03-Apr-2013 13:20:45

I like both and think they have their good and bad points. Twitter is where I suppose I do more interactive stuff and talk to people. Facebook is where I like to share the occasional YouTube link or just throw thoughts out there but it seems not so interactive or immediate like Twitter is unless people choose to comment.

Post 26 by Siriusly Severus (The ESTJ 1w9 3w4 6w7 The Taskmaste) on Sunday, 11-Aug-2013 23:08:11

I have to try extra hard at not forgetting facebook but with me making me beep at me when my friends comment on my postings it's bebtter. I just need to stop being so damned lazy!

my twitter client of choice is yurufukara on the mac. And I got this client for facebook on the macbook, but I still hate the useless clutter on there. I don't need to know that bob posted a new link, rick liked a picture or status, mary just checked in at a restaurant, or that jill commented on stacey's wall. Just fucking forget it, not leafing through that mess. where as in twitter you can choose who to follow.

I love what you say about Facebook there!

Post 28 by season (the invisible soul) on Monday, 12-Aug-2013 17:59:09

when you think of it, both platforms are kind of different from each other. Facebook is more like a shopping mall, it got food place, shops, movies, games, photos stores, and lots more.
Tweeter on another hand is like a department store. It is up to you as to what you want your department store to be. You can have it as a network of a counter where you get different information from the counter and off you go to search it out, or you can have updates on latest development, or a window to communicate with others.
That is how exactly i use it. Facebook for me is a gathering place, specially when i have friends and family around the world, it become rather important spot to collect and gather and update on each other life.
Tweeter for me on another hand is like my news update. I get to know what is happening with the world in seconds, and how the world reacts to the development or piece of news in second.
Facebook in some way is attach to me, also means, i'm more sellective as to who i add on facebook, and what i say on facebook. Tweeter on another hand is what i feel comfortable on saying stuff that i may not feel so on facebook, it is more easier to be detach, and no string attach to my personal life as much as facebook. I usually keep tweeter open to contacts and professional networks.
